We are back with another ‘Best Places to Travel’ instalment, bringing you location ideas for every month of the calendar year. Get your tasty beverage and prepare for a well earned moment of bliss as we find out about some of the best places to travel in June.
1. Ukraine
City Recommendation: Odessa
NomadList Rating: 3.78/5
Ukraine. Maybe one of the most underrated places we should be visiting. The mountains have forests on them, the cathedrals decorate the skyline with their gold domes and spires that reach into the atmosphere. An area of strategic importance, Ukraine has had human beings living, working and enjoying life there for eons.
Odessa is not the largest city, ranking 3rd in that list. But don’t hold that against it; Odessa is absolutely beautiful in the summertime. For digital nomads looking for that European city vibe at with a far more palatable price tag, this is one not to be missed.
Go to the ballet, relax in some of the most beautiful spas and make a habit of looking at some of the most stunning architecture that reminds you of fairytales. At the same time, the city is young and upbeat. Take in a jazz show, go out for the evening somewhere nice to eat and then for some drinks after.
Digital nomad facts; the internet is pretty fast and it’s widely available. Cost of accommodation is very affordable; in fact, the cost of living across the board will give your bank account a welcome reprieve, especially if you’ve been hanging out in places like Barcelona, Florence, or London for instance.
I think what really is appealing is being able to do things like see a show or go to a ballet without having to sell your siblings for a decent seat. Lifestyle people, lifestyle!
Top 5 Bucketlist Items
- See excellent shows and the Ballet at the Opera and Ballet Theatre
- Get in the one person cable car from the Soviet Era
- Picnic in the City Garden
- Go Shopping in the Odessa Passage

2. Poland
City Recommendation: Warsaw
NomadList Rating: 4.16/5
If you want to be a country with outstanding natural beauty, don’t be so quick to forget about Poland. Beautiful mountain ranges, wonderful cities and a very fine standard of living, Poland is one of those places with the potential to become yet another nomad capital in Eastern Europe. To be honest, judging by that NomadList rating, they’re on their way already.
The city we’d recommend here is Warsaw. A vibrant, modern metropolis with plenty for any digital nomad. You can expect to find excellent internet connections, a bunch of coworking spaces and cafes, and some of the most stunning city parks to spend your afternoons in.
Polish food is all about that hearty vibe - dumplings, stews, delicious soups. So don’t bring your Bali detox mindset here. You won’t get any fatter because you’ll be so active exploring! Cost of living again is amazing especially as Poland is the 6th largest economy in the European Union. This is a steal folks! Book your flights/coaches/horse and carts now!

- Work from the Warsaw University Library and walk in the gardens

3. Georgia
City Recommendation: Tbilisi
NomadList Rating: 4.47/5
Georgia is well on its way to being the worst kept digital nomad secret of all time. This little country that sits on the border between Europe and Asia is increasingly on the minds of digital nomads near and far. For that reason, I am super excited to feature Georgia as one of the best places to travel in June.
It’s listed as one of the safest places to travel in Europe. The landscape is incredible; beautiful lakes, a stunning mountain region that’ll make you feel like you’re in the Swiss Alps. The food...hello. You’ll be filling your face with all manner tasty delights.
The capital city of Tbilisi is vibrant, bohemian and defined by a rich cultural heritage that stretches back through the ages. The architecture tells you a story of all the different cultures that have been inspirational along the way. Just reading about how stunning it is is enough to have me looking at my itinerary for gaps - I will be shoving Georgia in as many of those gaps as possible.
For digital nomads, it’s like a little piece of heaven. Data is cheap, internet access is amazing for whatever work you’re likely to be doing. The cost of living is incredibly difficult to beat. The people are friendly and welcoming...
I’m not going to lie, this location is absolutely calling my name.

4. South Korea
City Recommendation: Seoul
NomadList Rating: 4.03/5
The east meets the west in a glorious tangle of culture and excitement. South Korea is one of those places that you feel you have to visit. All of a sudden you find that that the small interactions you might have had with Korean culture are no longer enough to satisfy. You want to get right in the thick of it and experience everything at the source.
This is why I’m listing it here as one of the best places to travel in June.
“Why June?”, I hear you ask. Well let’s explore that shall we?
You all know by now that I’m British so guess what? I am going to discuss the weather and there is very little that can be done about that. You will be pleased to know that in June, the weather is quite pleasant. At the highest average temperature, you’ll be hot but you’ll be a nice hot. Evenings are wonderfully balmy too so you won’t be contending with extreme temperature changes when the sun goes down.
It’s great to get that need to talk about the weather out of my system.
Why Seoul?
Because it is awesome. It is awesome because there are unending things to do, a million wonderful places to work; for digital nomads, there’s such potential for us to have an amazing time. Internet speeds in apartments sit at a very jolly 100mbps...not too shabby. Those speeds are if your internet sucks. The likelihood is that it’s much faster. Mobile data is easy to get hold of, with many plans offering unlimited data. Again, not too shabby.
Can we talk about the food? Yep let’s do that. Korean food is going to keep you more than happy. Street food? Yes. Posh restaurants? Yes. Everything in between? You betcha! The bottom line is that the food scene is an adventure all on its own. Man alive I’m hungry…
Do excuse me, I’m just off to check flights to Seoul…
Top 5 Bucketlist
- Eat as much Korean BBQ as possible
- Walk the paths of Gyeongui Line Forest
- Cool off in the Rooftop Seoullo Pool
- Visit Changdeokgung Palace
- Shop until you drop at Dongdaemun

5. Croatia
City Recommendation: Split
NomadList Rating: 3.52/5
Old cities made of creamy polished stone. Croatia has so much to offer to any digital nomad, whether you’re a seasoned traveller or a first-timer.
At this time of year, the weather will be beautiful. You can choose loads of different places to spend time in; Split is stunning; the old town with its labyrinth of cobbled streets and fantastic konobas will keep you occupied and well-fed. Dubrovnik is just epic to explore and you can appreciate how great it is for films. For a weekend of R&R you could visit Hvar’s lavender fields or have a beach day on Brac. Get that tan going.
Internet access is pretty standard, so maintaining a work schedule is more than doable. There’s always digital nomads passing through, and for sure in Split, there are some great cafes to work from and a couple of coworking spaces as well. If you’ve not been, get going, you’ll have the best time.
Top 5 Bucketlist Items
- Visit the Stray Dog Shelter
- Visit Diocletian’s Palace
- Stuff your face with Dalmatian cuisine in a local Konoba
- Do a road trip to Dubrovnik
- Visit Krka National Park

6. USA - Colorado
City Recommendation: Boulder
NomadList Rating: 2.99/5
For all you lovers of lush greenery and adventure, I give to you…
...Coloradooooo (*applause*)
This is a stunning part of North America that is beautiful during this time of year, hence it’s appearance as one of the best places to travel in June. Live your unique version of the American dream surrounded by mountains, and trees and hikes and beauty...you get the picture.
As ever, all the digital nomad stuff is covered. Good internet, lots of fun stuff to do, people to meet etc. Downside is that it is expensive to live here - monthly estimates are nearly double what you pay in some of the locations listed here. But for those incredible views and the amount of adventure you’re going to have, it’s worth it.
The area recommendation is Boulder, although Colorado has many wondrous places to stay. Eat the best local produce, and breathe that fresh air. What you get in Boulder is the best of both. It’s a mountain, retreat style vibe but you don’t have to sacrifice the comforts of all your favourite amenities.
We shout “Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!”

7. Canada
City Recommendation: Montreal
NomadList Rating: 4.07/5
Canada. The landscape is nice. The people are nice. The accent is nice. It’s ALL NICE! Okay, well that might be a bit of an exaggeration but I don’t think that any of us can deny that Canada has a lot going for it.
The national parks...not even Instagram can do them justice. It’s one of the biggest countries in the world so you know what that means? There’s a whole bunch of exploring to do and unless you want to be living in snow suit, June is the time to do it!
As far as city recommendations go, the fun, bouncy, wonderfully French city of Montreal awaits. It’s a stunning time to explore a city that has oodles of character because the weather is warm, people’s spirits are high and you can have a great time in a Canadian city without breaking the bank. The other cities like Toronto and Vancouver are less likely to be nice to your wallet.
For digital nomads, you better believe the internet is good, you’ve got loads of options when it comes to finding places to work and you will find an airbnb at a reasonable price in comparison to other cities.
You’ll be eating poutine, fried potatoes with cheese curds, bacon and a beefy gravy. Sounds like a heart attack but you’ll be walking around so much, your body will need such hearty food. I think it sounds a bit suspect but it’s French and the French know good food. If it’s good for them, it’s likely it’ll be good for me too.
Here are a few other things on the bucketlist…
