Patagonia

Bariloche, Argentina

March 19 - April 16, 2027

This wild and pristine Patagonian alpine paradise is what dreams are made of! With the glorious Andes mountains as your backdrop and crystal-clear lakes shimmering as the sun shines, for the nature lovers, hikers, explorers, adrenaline seekers, and landscape-obsessed photographers, Bariloche will be the town that kicks off your obsession with Patagonia.

Bariloche, sitting on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi in Argentina's Lake District, is like a slice of the Swiss Alps in Patagonia. Beyond the beautiful views, the spirit of adventure swirls boldly through the air, calling you to explore nature in one of the countless outdoor activities. Get ready for world-class hiking trails, lake kayaking, and much more!

New to WiFi Tribe? A Chapter is a month of co-living & co-working with 15-25 remote professionals and entrepreneurs. You'll arrive in a new city with an instant community of inspiring, like-minded friends to do life with (deep work on weekdays, daily hangouts, shared dinners, big adventures on weekends). Your social life is an automatic 10/10, but you choose your pace and set your schedule. And by the end, you'll leave with friends you keep traveling with for years.

Everything is co-created – NOT a tour group, a community. Most members are seasoned solo travellers who want a more connected, fun and meaningful global lifestyle – a social life that travels with them. Everyone is values-vetted (only 17% of applicants are accepted) to make sure you'll find your kind of people here. Our vibes: be kind, be bold, stay humble.

"Some people think the nomad lifestyle is lonely. I've found the opposite. WiFi Tribe feels like we've hacked the best of both worlds: freedom without isolation, adventure without rootlessness. I'm grateful for this community." - Brooke, Triber

With mountain vistas and gloriously fresh air, our work weeks will be incredible. We'll post up at cafés in Bariloche's Centro Cívico with lake views and the Andes as our backdrop. We'll wander along the lakeshore, feasting on incredible Argentine steaks and Patagonian specialties, sampling local craft beers, and overdosing on Bariloche's famous chocolate.

Weekends are for exploring more of Patagonia's playground! We'll tackle hikes like Refugio Frey, Cerro Bellavista, and Llao Llao Peak. Adventurous folk will enjoy kayaking, whitewater river rafting, and mountain biking, while those seeking a more relaxed pace can enjoy boat cruises to Isla Victoria and the Arrayanes Forest, and a drive along the route of the seven lakes.

Experience Bariloche with the Tribe

Bariloche has so many outdoor activities that you'll want to come back in every season to experience them all. When spring and summer hit, these are our favorite things to do in Patagonia.

1. Stroll Through the Town

Bariloche has a cute town center with interesting architecture, quaint shops, and a lake with great views.

2. Test Out Your Asado Skills

Fire up the parilla, load on the meats, veggies, and provoleta, and pig out when it's ready.

3. Bike to a Beer with a View

Along the Circuito Chico, there's the Cervecería Patagonia for a cold one overlooking the lake.

4. Trek to the Lagunas Atop Cerro Catedral

Find Cerro Catedral a short bus ride away for a day hike to Refugio Frey and two beautiful lagunas.

5. Paraglide High Above the Treetops

Charge the GoPro and go paragliding for the best view of the town Bariloche and Lake Nahuel Huapi.

6. Stargaze While Staying at a Refugio

After a long day of trekking, cozy up as a Tribe, gaze at the brightest stars, and stay overnight at the summit.

7. Road Trip Along the Ruta de Siete Lagos

Cruise Route 40, filled with pullovers for the 7 lakes that sit between La Angostura and San Martín de los Andes.

8. Kayak Your Way Across the Lake

Kayak to scenic waterfalls on Nahuel Huapi, the region's most prominent lake surrounded by gorgeous mountains.

Keep Traveling With Your Nomad Friends

Don't miss out on the "Gap Week" plans!

Gap weeks are the weeks before your Chapter begins and the week after it ends. It's the space where the friendships you've made (or are about to make) fuel even bigger adventures. You arrive early and connect with Tribers you've been chatting with on Slack to explore a region together before Chapter starts, or stay late after the month wraps to travel somewhere new with the people who just became your closest friends. Here are our top gap week suggestions around Bariloche that pair perfectly with this Chapter:

Ushuaia or El Calafate

Patagonia isn't all that accessible, so maximizing your time in this epic destination and surrounds is a great idea! Stay in the Patagonia region and head south to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world, for incredible hiking and wildlife encounters. Here, you'll view and hike through dramatic fjords and encounter penguin colonies. If not Ushuaia, head instead to El Calafate to explore the stunning Perito Moreno Glacier, hike glacier trails, see wildlife like guanacos and condors, and experience truly raw Patagonian landscapes. Whichever option you choose, you'll have an incredible time exploring some of the planet's most  stunning mountain ranges.

The W Trek

For serious hikers ready for a challenge, The W Trek is a legendary 4-5 day hike that takes you through Torres del Paine in Chile. You'll see breathtaking mountain peaks, turquoise lakes, and some of the most beautiful landscapes on Earth. This hike is challenging but manageable, but with 5-7 hours of hiking per day (the toughest day being the Base of the Towers with 900m elevation gain) and unpredictable weather bringing sudden rain and strong winds, it can feel relentless. If you're looking for something a bit more chilled, a short flight from Bariloche takes you to the Atacama Desert in Chile where you can explore the salt flats, relax in natural hot springs, and witness flamingo-filled lagoons.

Highlights

We're heading back to one of the Tribe's absolute favorite destinations, Bariloche!

Waking up with Lake Nahuel Huapi close by and the Andes as your backdrop is every nature lover's dream! Bariloche is famous for stunning glacial lakes, awesome hikes, and tasty chocolate shops. This time, we've found the property we've been searching for, and it's perfect.

We're taking over an entire hotel in the heart of central Bariloche, right by Cinco Esquinas. With 17 bedrooms and all of us under one roof (yay!), this is the perfect setup for us; pure Tribe energy and close community vibes.

The coliving property has a super spacious dining area that's awesome for coworking sessions or group meals, two lounge areas for chilling, and a little garden with a BBQ.

Our coliving home will have Starlink WiFi as backup for solid connectivity, and the town has plenty of cafés with good internet.

Our location couldn't be better. We're in the heart of town, steps from cafés, restaurants, shops, and the Lake Nahuel Huapi waterfront. Everything is walkable and accessible.

Good to Know

Bariloche's town center is super walkable and we're close to everything. You can easily explore on foot, and local buses are frequent and cheap for reaching trailheads, spots along the lake, or the Circuito Chico route. For longer adventures or group trips to hiking spots, we'll share taxis or rent cars together to split costs. Wheels are essential for weekend trips!

March to April is early fall with temperatures around 15-19°C (59-66°F) with plenty of sunshine and occasional light rain. Lows sit around 2°C (35.6°F) so pack layers and warm clothing for the cooler evenings.

Bariloche is serious about outdoor adventures. Trails are well-marked and refugios (mountain huts) dot the landscape. Don't skip the hiking here; it's what Bariloche does best!

There are no onsite laundry facilities at our coliving home, but there's a reliable laundromat very close by.

Every cleaning includes an inspection of the property and any damage will be charged. We'll also do a full inventory of everything and document its condition upfront, just to protect everyone.

Bring physical US dollars if you can. The exchange rate for cash dollars is significantly better than what you get paying directly with a credit card, plus, many places in town don't accept cards at all.

What classifies a room as an upgrade?

We have three amenities categories we look at when selecting the upgrade rooms:

  • Functionality: desk, chair, kitchen, ensuite bathroom, privacy, AC, kitchenette or kitchen, fridge, walk-in closet or extra storage space etc.
  • How it looks: balcony, terrace, views, size of room, size of bed, windows/natural light, decor, living room or seating area, couch, coffee table, mirror etc.
  • Mixed: When possible, the room shares some of both of the above.
  • Securing the upgrade guarantees that you get the amenities you've paid for.
  • Upgrades that have not been secured will be assigned to members based on a number of different factors by the host (order of booking, circle level, etc.)
  • If all rooms have a particular amenity such as AC we do not offer upgrades for that particular amenity.
