We first set foot in Cape Town way back in 2018, and since then, we've called the Mother City home 16 times! We can't tear ourselves away from this nomad hotspot, and keep coming back for the sunsets, good vibes, and awesome activities. We'll be in Cape Town at the best time of year—peak summer—so get ready for 8PM sunsets and epic adventures!

Cape Town is one of the Tribe's most adored destinations: the city is stunning, cuisine is diverse and incredible, there are countless cafés for coworking, and the vibes here are immaculate. Summer in Cape Town feels like a permanent holiday. Picture: long, sunny days, sunsets that last for hours, trips to the winelands, yacht parties, and so much more!

New to WiFi Tribe? A Chapter is a month of co-living & co-working with 15-25 remote professionals and entrepreneurs. You'll arrive in a new city with an instant community of inspiring, like-minded friends to do life with (deep work on weekdays, daily hangouts, shared dinners, big adventures on weekends). Your social life is an automatic 10/10, but you choose your pace and set your schedule. And by the end, you'll leave with friends you keep traveling with for years.

Everything is co-created – NOT a tour group, a community. Most members are seasoned solo travellers who want a more connected, fun and meaningful global lifestyle – a social life that travels with them. Everyone is values-vetted (only 17% of applicants are accepted) to make sure you'll find your kind of people here. Our vibes: be kind, be bold, stay humble.

"To anyone curious about trying out the remote work/traveling life, I would say that Wifi Tribe is an incredible way to get started on your journey! And for those who have been traveling alone, it's a wonderful way to make more connections with nomads and expand your global circle." - Danielle, Triber

The best thing about Cape Town is the lifestyle: locals are active, everyone spends their time outdoors, and the city has a chill and mellow pace. Weekdays here bring plenty of opportunities to be active, from hiking to surfing, Padel and more. Between work sprints and Tribe hangs, we'll eat our way through the city's food scene and watch epic sunsets every night.

On weekends, we'll head out of Cape Town and explore more South Africa. Trips to the Garden Route mean hikes in the Tsitsikamma, bungee jumping off Africa's highest bridge, and lazing on the beach in Plettenberg Bay, while short flights into the Kruger—or even Botswana or Zimbabwe—take you into the heart of the bush for a magical safari experience!

Highlights

We're heading to Cape Town for 17th month-long coliving experience, and we couldn't be more excited! One of South Africa's most iconic cities, Cape Town is a destination that truly has it all: beautiful views, world-class beaches, incredible food, world renowned wine, buzzing neighborhoods, and that legendary Mother City energy that makes you never want to leave.

We've been searching for the perfect Cape Town base and our coliving home is an absolute win. We're taking over a massive heritage building in Green Point, and we'll all be together all under one roof, so get pumped for a full Tribe Takeover!

The property is stunning: 17 en-suite rooms spread across the heritage building and main house, a beautiful swimming pool with sun deck, gorgeous garden, spacious communal lounge, dedicated coworking workspace, and a fully-equipped kitchen. The main house features a large open balcony overlooking the pool—hello sundowners with the Tribe before heading out!

Every room has an en-suite bathroom, a desk and chair for productive work sessions, and an A/C, essential for those warm Cape Town summer days. Some rooms have private balconies.

Our location is pure perfection. We're in one of the most sought after neighborhoods, leafy, green, and walkable Green Point, sandwiched between the ocean, the mountain, and city centre. We have loads of cafés, gyms, yoga studios, and brunch spots all on our doorstep.

The Sea Point Promenade is just minutes away for sunrise runs and ocean dips in Saunders' Pool, we're short drives to the V&A Waterfront, Clifton beaches, and Table Mountain, and most importantly, it's only a 10 minute walk to Giovanni's (IYKYK).

Good to Know

Please note: This Chapter has different dates from our regular calendar.

Cape Town requires sensible awareness and street smarts at all times. Cape Town is an incredible destination, and like any major city, it comes with a safety warning. Take precautions with your belongings, consider bringing a back-up phone if you are concerned about theft or pickpocketing, take out adequate travel insurance, avoid walking alone at night, and practice big city sensibilities.

Uber is extremely cost effective and widely available in Cape Town. The MiCity bus route is also a great option for those wanting to hop around the city center and surrounds. Beyond the city center, public transport becomes a bit unreliable, and Ubering remains the easiest way to get around.

Those wanting to see the city with more ease may want to rent a car. There are plenty of awesome neighborhoods and outside of the city center that are well worth exploring, and having a set of wheels gives you the ultimate freedom of movement. Road trips are a vibe here too, so we'll likely hire and share cars for weekend trips some distance away.

We're in Cape Town during summer, which means absolutely glorious weather! Expect temperatures around 20-27°C (68-81°F) with long sunny days, low humidity, and sunsets that last hours. It's also the Cape's dry season, so rain is minimal. That being said, Cape Town can experience all four seasons in one day, so pack summer clothes, and a few layers for the occasional breezes.

South Africa uses Type M plug sockets (the large three-pin, extremely strange round variety), so bring a universal adapter!

Card payments are widely accepted throughout the city, and ATMs are readily available, but use ones inside shops or malls rather than street-facing ones for safety.

South Africa is an incredibly diverse, multicultural country with 11 official languages. English is widely spoken everywhere and you'll have zero communication issues. The local culture is warm, vibrant, and genuinely welcoming.

What classifies a room as an upgrade?

We have three amenities categories we look at when selecting the upgrade rooms:

  • Functionality: desk, chair, kitchen, ensuite bathroom, privacy, AC, kitchenette or kitchen, fridge, walk-in closet or extra storage space etc.
  • How it looks: balcony, terrace, views, size of room, size of bed, windows/natural light, decor, living room or seating area, couch, coffee table, mirror etc.
  • Mixed: When possible, the room shares some of both of the above.
  • Securing the upgrade guarantees that you get the amenities you've paid for.
  • Upgrades that have not been secured will be assigned to members based on a number of different factors by the host (order of booking, circle level, etc.)
  • If all rooms have a particular amenity such as AC we do not offer upgrades for that particular amenity.
