Las Terrenas
Dominican Republic
April 23 - May 21, 2027
We're heading to the Dominican Republic for the very first time. We are calling the small laid-back beach town of Las Terrenas home for a month of coliving and coworking in the Caribbean. Get ready for a month of lazy beach days, epic snorkeling, jungle trekking, ATV tours, plenty of boat days spent island hopping, all while embracing the island life!
Las Terrenas is a small Caribbean slice of heaven. It's not a resort-lined strip or a busy backpacker town, but rather a slow-paced, relaxed spot surrounded by beautiful beaches, pockets of jungle, and small fishing villages. The views are stunning, the beach is on your doorstep, and adventures are close by, making Las Terrenas the perfect base for productive work weeks mixed with awesome weekends spent exploring the Dominican Republic.
New to WiFi Tribe? A Chapter is a month of co-living & co-working with 15-25 remote professionals and entrepreneurs. You'll arrive in a new city with an instant community of inspiring, like-minded friends to do life with (deep work on weekdays, daily hangouts, shared dinners, big adventures on weekends). Your social life is an automatic 10/10, but you choose your pace and set your schedule. And by the end, you'll leave with friends you keep traveling with for years.
Everything is co-created – NOT a tour group, a community. Most members are seasoned solo travellers who want a more connected, fun and meaningful global lifestyle – a social life that travels with them. Everyone is values-vetted (only 17% of applicants are accepted) to make sure you'll find your kind of people here. Our vibes: be kind, be bold, stay humble.
"The people within the Tribe are always so caring and thoughtful; whether you're going through a major life change, career uncertainty, or even just deciding on where to go for dinner, folks will be there to amp you up in the best way possible! It's also great to be able to have conversations with people from all over the world, and gain insights and views that otherwise might have been more difficult to gain." - Jessica, Triber
During the week, we'll start our days with morning swims, cowork from our villas or at beachfront cafés, spend afternoons wandering the town discovering restaurants and shops, and end each day chilling on the beach. Las Terrenas is small, with the main strip offering plenty of bars, restaurants, and cafés. Between work sessions, you can sneak off for jungle hikes to waterfalls.
Weekends are for adventures! Explore more of the stunning beaches along the Caribbean coast, head into the jungle on foot or on horseback, ride ATVs around the island, and visit different towns and cities on weekends. Cabarete is a kitesurfing haven, Santo Domingo promises a city fix, and if you feel like kicking back, there are plenty of resorts in Punta Cana or Puerto Plata.

Keep Traveling With Your Nomad Friends
Don't miss out on the "Gap Week" plans!
Gap weeks are the weeks before your Chapter begins and the week after it ends. It's the space where the friendships you've made (or are about to make) fuel even bigger adventures. You arrive early and connect with Tribers you've been chatting with on Slack to explore a region together before Chapter starts, or stay late after the month wraps to travel somewhere new with the people who just became your closest friends. Here are our top gap week suggestions around Las Terrenas that pair perfectly with this Chapter:
Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico is hands down one of the most enthralling Caribbean islands, and you can't go wrong spending a gap week here. Explore Old San Juan's colorful colonial architecture, eat your way through the incredible local food scene, and enjoy the electric nightlife that rivals any major city. Hikes are wonderful here, with awesome rainforest trails to explore, and the beaches from the north coast to Vieques are truly stunning. Puerto Rico radiates energy and creativity; salsa music fills the streets and street art covers every corner. Whether you're dancing in San Juan, swimming in bioluminescent bays, or exploring the rainforest, Puerto Rico is the perfect gap week destination to explore with your new Tribe friends.
Jamaica
The vibe, the culture, the nature, the food; there's nowhere on earth quite like Jamaica! This island is where reggae was born, where life moves to its own rhythm, and where everyone has time for a conversation and a laugh. Montego Bay and Negril are the laid-back beach towns everyone comes for, but the real magic is in the adventures: jump into natural waterfalls hidden deep in the jungle, hike through the misty Blue Mountains learning about coffee farms, explore colorful fishing villages where locals will adopt you for the day. Wind down each day sitting on the beach with a Red Stripe watching the sunset, and spend your nights dancing to live reggae at beachside bars. The food is so good here too, think fresh seafood, jerk everything, and mangoes the size of your head. Slow down, ditch the itinerary, and enjoy just vibing with your crew.

Good to Know
Please note: Upgrades are only for private occupancy or couples sharing. There are no shared Upgrades for this Chapter.
The town of Las Terrenas is small and walkable with everything you need nearby and accessible on foot, such as gyms, cafés, restaurants, shops, the beach, etc. When you don't feel like walking or need to reach a further distance, the most common form of transport is the motoconcho, a motorbike taxi that travels through the town and to nearby areas. For weekend adventures, scooter, motorbike, and ATV rentals give you the freedom to explore at your own pace. Finally, for longer trips, we may rent and share a car, otherwise taxis and private shuttles are available.
Las Terrenas has solid WiFi across all the villas with dedicated Starlink, perfect for remote work. The town also has decent cafés with reliable connection if you want to work beachside.
Las Terrenas is very safe. It's a small, tight-knit expat and local community where everyone looks out for each other. Standard beach town awareness applies; don't leave valuables visible and watch bags at the beach; but overall the town is welcoming and secure.
We're hitting Las Terrenas during late spring so expect warm, tropical weather with temperatures ranging from 21-31°C (70-88°F). Occasional afternoon rain showers are normal and usually brief.

Closest airport: Samaná El Catey International Airport (AZS) is the closet airport with only a 30 minute drive to Las Terranas town, however, flights are fewer and more expensive. Flying to Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) (a larger hub with more flight options at a lowe cost) or Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) in Santo Domingo are alternate options, but would include a road transfer to Las Terrenas; roughly a 3.5–4 hour drive from Punta Cana and 2-2.5 hours from Santo Domingo, depending on traffic.
In the Chapter's Slack channel before arrival, members often coordinate transportation to our homes together. You'll receive our address 4 weeks from the Chapter's start date.
