Oct 17 - Nov 14, 2025
Mayan heritage meets modern Mexican culture in Mérida, the vibrant capital of the Yucatan Peninsula. Ancient Mayan culture pulses through every plaza with nightly dances and performances, while colorful colonial streets buzz with amazing restaurants, traditional cantinas, and rooftop bars perfect for unforgettable nights out with the Tribe. Weekends are wide open for exploring nearby cenotes and Mayan ruins, while thrilling Day of the Dead celebrations bring the Tribe together for Mexico's most iconic cultural experience.
New to WiFi Tribe? A Chapter is a month of co-living & co-working with 15-25 remote professionals and entrepreneurs. You'll arrive in a new city with an instant community of inspiring, like-minded friends to do life with (deep work on weekdays, daily hangouts, shared dinners, big adventures on weekends). Your social life is an automatic 10/10, but you choose your pace and set your schedule. And by the end, you'll leave with friends you keep traveling with for years.
Everything is co-created – NOT a tour group, a community. Most members are seasoned solo travellers who want a more connected, fun and meaningful global lifestyle – a social life that travels with them. Everyone is values-vetted (only 17% of applicants are accepted) to make sure you'll find your kind of people here. Our vibes: be kind, be bold, stay humble.
"What sets WiFi Tribe apart is the community. Each chapter brings together a diverse group of people, all with different ideas of fun and adventure. This creates a richer, more dynamic experience. You’re constantly discovering new activities, joining in on unexpected adventures, and trying things you might never have considered if you were traveling solo." - Ryan, Triber
Explore the Yucatan's most epic destinations. With pristine beaches, mystical cenotes, charming colonial towns, and incredible Mayan archaeological sites just a few hours away, you'll have endless options for unforgettable adventures.
Celebrate Día de los Muertos/Hanal Pixán in Mérida! The city transforms into pure magic—the streets fill with marigolds, the scents of traditional food, and elaborate altars created to honour past loved ones. You'll be in town for all of the celebrations, from lively parades, candlelit cemetery gatherings, live music, street performances, and more!

Meet the Chapter Host
Joanna
My name is JoJo and I’ve been a happy triber since 2021. After 10 incredible chapters, I’m beyond thrilled to dive even deeper into this community as a host! I was born and raised on Long Island, NY (Mets fan, of course) but am now based out of Atlanta, GA. My love for travel (and obsession with the U.K.) started with my wonderfully cliched study abroad experience in England. I’ve worked in social media strategy for a few years and am now focusing my career on community building. I love embracing my nerdiness, dance parties, road trips, game nights, scary amounts of caffeine, and cheap whisky.

Good to Know
Mérida is often referred to as one of Mexico's safest cities, but still, keep your wits about you.
The city is perfect for digital nomads and has a thriving scene already. Great cafes and coworking spots are readily available throughout the city.
Midday nap? Why not. Siestas are commonplace in Mérida, so expect a midday break around 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM daily. Some shops and businesses may be closed during siesta hours, so plan your day accordingly.
Cash is widely used in Mérida, so always keep some on hand.
If you're interested in experiencing Day of the Dead differently, Mérida will be the perfect destination. While places like Oaxaca and Mexico City offer incredible DOTD celebrations, Mérida gives you something truly unique-the authentic fusion of Mexican and ancient Mayan traditions through Día de los Muertos and Hanal Pixán celebrations.
If you want the best of both worlds, Oaxaca is just a short trip away, giving you the chance to experience both DOTD celebrations.
