Lake Ohrid
North Macedonia
August 07 - September 04, 2026
Fully Booked
It's our first time in North Macedonia, and we're taking the Tribe to Ohrid! This Balkan hidden gem is perfect for Tribers who want to be surrounded by nature and immersed in European history. We're also heading to Ohrid at the best time of year! It'll be post-peak summer, so we'll have plenty of warm sunny days—perfect for lazing at Lake Ohrid all day long!
Ohrid is lovingly known as the "Pearl of the Balkans," and it's easy to see why! With a vibe that blends the old world with the new, dozens of medieval churches, absolutely stunning scenery, timeless Balkan charm, and the ancient Lake Ohrid which has been enchanting people for millions of years, this fun-filled spot will quickly become a firm fave Tribe destination.
New to WiFi Tribe? A Chapter is a month of co-living & co-working with 15-25 remote professionals and entrepreneurs. You'll arrive in a new city with an instant community of inspiring, like-minded friends to do life with (deep work on weekdays, daily hangouts, shared dinners, big adventures on weekends). Your social life is an automatic 10/10, but you choose your pace and set your schedule. And by the end, you'll leave with friends you keep traveling with for years.
Everything is co-created – NOT a tour group, a community. Most members are seasoned solo travellers who want a more connected, fun and meaningful global lifestyle – a social life that travels with them. Everyone is values-vetted (only 17% of applicants are accepted) to make sure you'll find your kind of people here. Our vibes: be kind, be bold, stay humble.
"It's hard to not overstate the effect that Wifi Tribe had on my life since I first joined in 2018. Today, I cannot name many travel friends that I did NOT meet through the community. During a Chapter you're not only gonna do a ton of fun stuff with like-minded people, you're also making so many connections." - Alex, Triber
With Lake Ohrid as our work backdrop, we'll be mega productive at our lakeside setting, admiring the scenery every second of our workday. We'll plan daily lake swims and kick back and relax during the week. After hours, we'll wander through the UNESCO Old Town, feast on divine fresh lake trout at waterfront restaurants, and catch stunning sunsets from the many viewpoints around.
Weekends are going to be epic! We'll hike all day long (Galičica National Park is a must!), sip wine in monasteries, take day trips to North Macedonia's quirky capital, Skopje, and even border-hop to other countries. Dream destinations Albania and Greece are right next door so there'll be plenty of opportunities for fun, sun, and adventure!

Highlights
We're calling Lake Ohrid home for a month-long Chapter! This historic lakeside spot is known for its stunning lake and beautifully preserved old town. Days here revolve around the lake, from morning walks or gentle cycles along the water's edge, to afternoon swims off quiet beaches, and focused work sessions before sunset missions.
Our coliving home is a beautiful, sunset-facing property in an incredible location. We're perfectly positioned, a 7-to-10 minute walk to the city center
and supermarkets, a 13-minute walk to the main town beach (Saraiste Beach), and a scenic 20 minute forest trail up to the Old Town castle.
Each bedroom includes an ensuite bathroom, an A/C (essential for those warm summer days!), a desk and chair for productive work time, as well as a small fridge. Some bedrooms have balconies.
We've got a great kitchen to prepare family dinners and a big communal space to hang out in. Plus, almost 300mbps of Wifi!
Lake Ohrid is a really walkable town and we've chosen this location so everything's within easy reach on foot. Everything you need like cafés, restaurants, shops, the lake, and the old town is a short walk from our coliving home. You won't need a car for daily life.
Good to Know
We're hitting Ohrid at the perfect time! Early August through early September means post-peak summer where the weather is still gorgeously warm with temperatures around 25-30°C (77-86°F). The lake water is perfect swimming, and the intense summer tourist crowds have thinned out.
Most nationalities don't need a visa for stays under 90 days, but check your specific visa requirements.
North Macedonia is predominantly Orthodox Christian with significant Muslim minority. Churches are everywhere in Ohrid so dress modestly
when visiting religious sites by covering knees and shoulders.
North Macedonia borders Albania (they share the lake!), Kosovo, Greece, Serbia, and Bulgaria so we have plenty of options for easy weekend trips from Ohrid!
