We're getting pumped for our 11th Chapter in Cape Town! "The Mother City" has become one of the Tribe's most loved destinations, and with jaw-dropping natural beauty, endless summer days, a great vibe, and plenty to explore, it's easy to see why we keep coming back! But this year, we're planning something a little different...
New to WiFi Tribe? A Chapter is a month of co-living & co-working with 15-25 remote professionals and entrepreneurs. You'll arrive in a new city with an instant community of inspiring, like-minded friends to do life with (deep work on weekdays, daily hangouts, shared dinners, big adventures on weekends). Your social life is an automatic 10/10, but you choose your pace and set your schedule. And by the end, you'll leave with friends you keep traveling with for years.
Everything is co-created – NOT a tour group, a community. Most members are seasoned solo travellers who want a more connected, fun and meaningful global lifestyle – a social life that travels with them. Everyone is values-vetted (only 17% of applicants are accepted) to make sure you'll find your kind of people here. Our vibes: be kind, be bold, stay humble.
For this chapter, we're swapping city scenes for small town vibes, and will call the laid-back neighbourhood of Hout Bay home. A quiet and peaceful cove between Llandudno and Noordhoek, Hout Bay is a vibey village with loads of charm. With Chapman's Peak as our backdrop, we're in prime hiking territory and can explore all of the epic trails on our doorstep, like Cape Point National Park, Silvermine, the Constantia Valley. If you're looking for a slower-paced Chapter, with restful and productive workweeks, beautiful living accommodation only a stone's throw from the beach and mountains, and epic weekend adventures to explore all that South Africa has to offer, then this Chapter is for you!
Craving the quintessential Cape Town city experience? A short 25-minute drive takes you from Hout Bay to the city center, where you can catch all the action. Summer in Cape Town feels like a permanent holiday, so prepare for long, sunny days, cute café hopping, late sunsets, trips to the winelands, yacht parties, and more!
On weekends, we'll head out of Cape Town and explore more of South Africa. Trips to the Garden Route mean hikes in the Tsitsikamma, bungee jumping off Africa's highest bridge, and lazing on the beach in Plettenberg Bay, while short flights into the Kruger—or even Botswana or Zimbabwe—take you into the heart of the bush for a magical safari experience!
"Joining this community was truly life-changing for me, I never thought I would have the opportunity to not only travel and work in so many amazing places but be connected to a network of people who are so like-minded as myself." - Samantha, Triber

Meet the Chapter Host
Rachael
Hi, my name is Rachael Arthur, and I’m so excited to join WiFi Tribe as a Chapter Host! I was born and raised in Houston, TX, but my passion for dance and musical theater eventually led me to New York City, where I spent 10 amazing years.
I love meeting new people, discovering what makes them tick, and geeking out over personality assessments. While traveling, you’ll often find me biking along a scenic waterfront, catching a breathtaking sunset, hiking a new trail, or diving into new adventures. I’m also an avid fan of investigative journalism podcasts, self-help books, memoirs, and—yes—reality TV!

Highlights
We are staying in the peaceful neighborhood of Hout Bay, a once historic fishing village between Noordhoek and Llandudno. Hout Bay is a small neighborhood with loads of charm.
Staying here means you’ll get less busy tourist crowds and traffic, and can enjoy a truly local feel. Plus, with so much nature around, you can plan a daily beach swim or walk along Chapmans Peak into every single workday. Hout Bay is adorable—it’s small, and feels like a cute village, but has everything you need to feel right at home. People are friendly, there are plenty of grocery stores for those who love to cook, and there are awesome bars, restaurants, and cafés to explore.
Don’t miss the croissants and freshly baked sourdough from the South Yeaster Bakery, cowork and chill at Delish, and plan a sunset picnic on Chappies at least once a week! Sunday Fundays start out just right in Hout Bay, with the Bay Harbour Market promising delicious food, live music, and straight up vibes.
Our coliving homes are three beautiful properties, each with fully equipped kitchens and pools. Two of the properties have BBQ areas, perfect for summertime barbeques (or braais)!
Two of the properties are right next to each other, just a short walk from the beach and the center of town. The other property is a stunning hilltop villa with panoramic views, loads of space for Tribe activities! None of the rooms have A/C, but we'll have fans. Plus, we'll be in town at the tail end of summer when temperatures are a bit cooler.
Good to Know
Due to our location, this Chapter will be more restful and relaxing than previous Cape Town Chapters. This is perfectly suited for someone who has either been to Cape Town before and has experienced living on the Atlantic Seaboard side and wants to explore a different side of the city, or someone who values more quiet accommodation outside of the hustle and bustle of the city. Think productive work weeks, and being close to nature.
Still, Cape Town is a tiny city, and nothing is far away. Craving a Camps Bay beachfront crawl, Sea Point promenade walk, or shopping in the V&A, or a First Thursday mission? Ubers from Hout Bay are readily available and you can be in the city center in around 25 minutes (toughly +- $18 one way)! Plus, from Hout Bay, we’re a stone’s throw from the Constantia Valley Wine Route and Noordhoek.
South Africa has historically experienced load shedding, where electric power is cut from time to time. This hasn't happened in several months, but there is always a possibility that it could return. If it does, we'll be prepared as power shortages are advertised in advance. and, as always, the chapter host will have MiFi devices as a backup.
Standard city safety rules apply: Avoid walking alone at night, flashing your belongings, or leaving items unattended.
We’re super close to Llandudno, a small beach roughly an 8-minute drive from Hout Bay. This beach is absolutely divine (possibly the best beach in Cape Town!), so get ready to spend hours here—lazing in the sun, swimming, surfing (only if you’re a pro surfer), and catching some of the best sunsets in the city!

What is your favorite part about a Chapter?
I’m currently on Chapter with several people I’ve met on other Chapters around the world. My favorite part is arriving here for the first time and feeling like I'm arriving home because several of my good friends from around the world are already here waiting for me. - Fellow Triber (anonymous)
What's the work vibe on Chapter?
Productive and in some ways inspiring. Being surrounded by many professionals in different areas, which gives you an understanding of different fields is a part of the chapter I enjoyed the most. Felt like I was exposed to a lot. - Wade Rosa
