We’re so excited to explore a new destination together! This is the very first time that WiFi Tribe has held a chapter in New Zealand, and we can’t wait to call Wellington our home base!
The coolest city in New Zealand, Wellington buzzes with creative energy and Kiwi culture. Perfectly walkable, with an incredible café and food scene, vibrant street art, and harbor views, this city sets the perfect backdrop for our daily adventures. Weekend trips across the North Island take us to some of the most captivating destinations where we’ll discover Māori culture and see New Zealand’s famous bird life, while further trips to the South Island promise plenty of epic adventures in nature!
New to WiFi Tribe? A Chapter is a month of co-living & co-working with 15-25 remote professionals and entrepreneurs. You'll arrive in a new city with an instant community of inspiring, like-minded friends to do life with (deep work on weekdays, daily hangouts, shared dinners, big adventures on weekends). Your social life is an automatic 10/10, but you choose your pace and set your schedule. And by the end, you'll leave with friends you keep traveling with for years.
Everything is co-created – NOT a tour group, a community. Most members are seasoned solo travellers who want a more connected, fun and meaningful global lifestyle – a social life that travels with them. Everyone is values-vetted (only 17% of applicants are accepted) to make sure you'll find your kind of people here. Our vibes: be kind, be bold, stay humble.
"WiFi Tribe has been hands down the best decision I've made in my 30s. It’s rare to find a true community at this stage in life, but WiFi Tribe offers exactly that—a space where you can feel at home no matter where in the world you are. What makes it special is the way it allows you to come as your authentic self, feeling truly seen and valued. I’ve made lifelong friends, created incredible memories, and learned so much about myself and the life I want to build." - Julie, Triber
With Wellington as your base, you’re perfectly positioned to explore the North Island. The Cultural Heart of NZ, where 77% of the population lives, get ready to wander through glowworm caves, kick it on beautiful beaches, and immerse yourself in Māori cultural experiences to learn about the traditions and customs of New Zealand’s indigenous people.
Well worth the trek, New Zealand’s South Island is an adventure playground. Here you’ll find some of the world’s best hiking trails through snow-capped mountain ranges and dramatic fjords. Adrenaline junkies will feel right at home in Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world, enjoying bungee jumping, canyon swinging, whitewater rafting, and much more!

"Hi friends!
I am so honored to be a part of this amazing journey! I am Sandra, Software Developer with home base in Belgrade, Serbia. I love technology, psychology, well anything that ends with -OGY plus Dancing. I am a part of Dance Fitness group called Euphoria, dancing in my spare time. I simply love learning, the less I know about a topic, more eager I am to hear more. I love when conversation with someone broadens my horizons and changes my opinion. I want people to feel comfortable to tell me anything without worrying about being judged and just feel my love and support. I am also a romantic, I have seen all the romantic comedies(multiple times) and read many romance novels!"

Highlights
Our coliving homes are in the best location in town. We'll be staying in Te Aro, an inner-city suburb of Wellington that's right in the heart of the action. We're close to Cuba Street and Courtenay Place, both awesome strips filled with great bars, restaurants and entertainment venues, and the harbor is just a short walk away.
We'll be staying in several apartments of either two or three bedrooms. Kitchens are all fully-equipped, and each apartment comes with a small terrace. None of the rooms have A/C, but this isn't a major problem as temperatures in Wellington between February and March are generally mild and pleasant (18-22°C / 64.4-71.6°F).
We’ll be based in New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington, for the duration of this Chapter. We’ll have plenty to explore in Wellington during the week, but our weekend trips are going to be epic! We have both the North and South Islands to plan adventures to, with the North Island being slightly more accessible.
The South Island can be reached either by flying into Christchurch or Picton, or, through the use of a three-hour ferry ride from Wellington to Picton. If you’re a nature lover or adrenaline junkie, do not skip the South Island — Queensland is a hotspot for thrill seekers and there are insane hikes and places of natural beauty around . Trekking to the South Island is well worth it.
Good to Know
New Zealand has super strict biosecurity laws. When you arrive, declare anything natural or biological for example, food, hiking boots etc..
Bring layers. Even though it’s technically summer, Wellington’s temperatures can be unpredictable, and in the evenings, temperatures can drop to 12–15°C (53–59°F). Wellington is also known to be a particularly windy city.
If you’re planning on hiking, always check the weather forecasts and pack extra layers as the weather can change quickly.
If you’re planning on renting a car, remember to drive on the left side of the road. If you’re planning a camping trip, apps like CamperMate and Gaspy are great to use while mapping routes and finding gas stations.
New Zealand is not a cheap destination, so be mindful of your budget.
Māori culture is sacred and deeply respected in New Zealand. It’s a good idea to learn a few words, such as Kia ora (meaning hello), and familiarize yourself with the basic pronunciation of place names.
The UV index is high, so bring sunscreen as well as insect repellent, especially if you're traveling to the South Island's West Coast, where sandflies are common.
