Originally from the Dominican Republic. She’s an environmental lawyer, and currently works at a non-profit with projects in the nexus of gender and climate change. She likes reading (a lot), volleyball, biking, dancing, and writing. She describes herself as curious, open-minded, active and full of energy.

Need a cozy spot to chat, read, or simply chill? The outdoor living room offers the perfect setting, with comfy seating and a relaxed vibes. And if you're the type who loves a home-cooked meal from time to time, our outdoor kitchen is the perfect set up to prepare a meal and enjoy while still soaking in the jungle vibes. 


If work calls, fear not! Our multiple outdoor coworking areas offer a refreshing change of scenery, allowing you to be productive while enjoying this tropical . And when it's time to unwind, head over to the wood deck adorned with inviting hammocks!

Good to Know

Our property layout is unique set up in Santa Teresa. They're just a couple of minutes walk from each other, a stone throw away really but our group will be divided into two while we catch some zzz's! That being said, this chapter is perfect for our more introverted folks - having a second property just across the street allows you recharge your battery before rejoining the gang! 


The apartments feature common areas that we will share with other residents of the building including a pool, sun loungers and outside tables and chairs.


The hotel, has a pool, yoga deck, communal kitchen, outdoor coworking areas, and gardens. We will be enjoying high-speed internet, with 50 Mbps at the apartments and 100 Mbps at the hotel.

As we will be visiting in the shoulder season, weather in Santa Teresa 'is an average high of 82°F (28°C) and a low of 78°F (26°C) with "a gentle breeze", according to Accuweather' . And don't forget to pack a rain coat... Tropical vibes are real in Costa Rica and rain is no stranger to the rainforest!


Additionally, keep in mind that Costa Rica's cost of living is generally higher compared to other Latin American countries, so plan your budget accordingly.

Shared upgrade: This room is located on the first floor of a duplex unit. The person in this room will enjoy a higher level of privacy and a much larger space than other shared rooms. It is considered a shared room because the second floor bedroom in the duplex needs to go through this room to access their space. It shares a bathroom with the second floor room. Equipped with AC and ceiling fan.

Saving option: this semi-private room is located on the second floor of a duplex unit. This room has a door for privacy and is located on a different floor, however, to access this room you need to cross the bedroom on the first floor. It shares a bathroom with the first-floor room. Equipped with AC.

Santa Teresa Chapter FAQs

Payment & cancellation deadlines

Chapter Payments (please be aware of the changes for all 2023 Chapters):

  • Booking requests will receive a link to finalize your booking to pay the full Chapter price payment
  • The final full payment is due 8 weeks prior to the Chapter starting. (Note: this means you’ll have from the time of booking until 8 weeks out to submit the full Chapter payment)
  • If your full payment is not received 8 weeks before the Chapter start date, your deposit will be forfeited and spot will be given to the next person on the waitlist
  • Bookings made less than 8 weeks before the Chapter start date will pay the full Chapter price at booking

Cancellations (please be aware of the new policy for 2023 trips):

The following cancellation policy applies:

  • Once the final price and accommodation details are announced, early bookers have 7 days to confirm their booking. Otherwise, the deposit is released for a future booking. 
  • You have a 48-hour grace period to cancel a trip booking and not forfeit your deposit. If a booking is cancelled within 48 hours, the deposit will be released for a future trip.
  • Cancelling 6+ weeks before arrival: 100% refund of the final payment. Your deposit is forfeited if you reconfirmed an early booking or if you didn’t cancel within the 48-hour grace period. Otherwise, the deposit is released for a future booking.
  • Cancelling 4-6 weeks before arrival: 50% refund of the final payment. Your deposit is forfeited if you reconfirmed an early booking or if you didn’t cancel within the 48-hour grace period. Otherwise, the deposit is released for a future booking.
  • Cancelling less than 4 weeks before arrival: No refund. Your deposit is forfeited if you reconfirmed an early booking or if you didn’t cancel within the 48-hour grace period. Otherwise, the deposit is released for a future booking.

Closest airport and transportation information

Closest airport: The best option is to arrive at San Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in San Jose, the capital city of Costa Rica.


From SJO you have more options of land shuttles and local flights to Santa Teresa or anywhere in Costa Rica.


The second option is to fly to Liberia (LIR), in the northwest region of Costa Rica, six hours away by land or thirty minutes by air from Santa Teresa (see Costa Rica map, on your right)
