It's been a minute since we've been back to Ecuador so we're over the moon to return to this super cool, South American city, where history, adventure, and culture collide in the heart of the Andes. During the week we'll cowork from colonial plazas with centuries-old architecture surrounding us, sipping coffee at cute cafés while staring at beautiful mountains.
After hours we'll spend our afternoons wandering through gorgeous neighborhoods, seeing the sights within the city, or taking quick trips outside of Quito to hike in nearby forests or chill in thermal pools. Where productivity and fun coexist, Quito is the perfect work-hard-play-hard city, and this Chapter is perfect for explorers who love culture mixed with adventure, want to experience high-altitude living, and are ready to see multiple sides of Ecuador without leaving one base.
New to WiFi Tribe? A Chapter is a month-long trip where we explore a destination together. Accommodation and internet is provided, and you’ll have a Chapter Host available for any help or guidance. You set your own schedule, working when needed, and can explore the city however you like. On weekends, you’ll venture to further destinations with the Tribe, co-creating an epic trip to see more of the country you’re working remotely in. You’ll call a new place home with a community that’ll quickly become your new best friends, and make memories that’ll last a lifetime.

Our weekend trips will be absolutely epic. We'll head to Baños, the adventure hub and one of the Tribe's all-time fave places for zip-lining over gorges, horseback riding, swinging out on Casa de Árbol's famous swing, and exploring waterfalls. For those ready to explore the Amazon, multi-day jungle expeditions mean canoe rides, exploring the rainforest, and encountering wildlife you've only seen in documentaries.
Visiting the Galápagos Islands is an absolute dream and with Quito as your base, you're perfectly positioned to explore one of the world's most extraordinary biodiversity kingdoms. Go swimming, snorkeling, and diving to view an abundance of aquatic life, hop around volcanic islands, and see the giant tortoises and marine iguanas.

1. Explore Quito's Historic Center
Wander through the city's UNESCO World Heritage Site with cobblestone streets, ornate churches, and iconic plazas.
2. See the City From Above
Take the teleférico (the highest cable car in South America!) up to 4,000 meters for stunning views of the city, the Andes mountains, and the Pichincha volcano.
3. Admire the Views from El Panecillo
Head to this iconic hilltop for 360° city views of the city and stand beneath the 45m tall Virgin Mary statue called La Virgen del Panecillo.
4. Hike Through Mindo Cloud Forest
About 2 hours away, this lush cloud forest is a hiker's paradise with trails to waterfalls, exotic birds, and a kind of misty, green landscape that feels like another world.
5. Plan a Weekend of Adventure Activities
A 3.5-hour drive takes you to an adventure hub in Baños. Go paragliding and zip-lining over gorges, cycle to waterfalls, and ride the Casa de Árbol swing in Baños.
6. Trek Around a Stunning Crater Lake
Quilotoa, a crater lake in the volcanic highlands, is absolutely stunning. Enjoy the beautiful hike then wander through a small Andean village with unique markets.
7. Explore Guayaquil
A short flight away, head to the largest city in Ecuador to see the colorful neighborhoods, stroll along the promenade, and visit the Churute forest and cocoa farms.
8. Summit an Iconic Snow-Capped Volcano
Only 2 hours south in Cotopaxi National Park sits one of the world's highest active volcanoes at 5,897m. Hike to the glacier, go horseback riding or jump on a bike tour.

Galápagos Islands
The Galápagos Islands are one of the most magical places on Earth and 100% worth putting on (and then crossing off) your bucket list. Picture swimming with sea lions, watching giant tortoises move in slow motion, spotting blue-footed boobies doing their cute but strange mating dance, and seeing all new kinds of wildlife. A week is a decent amount of time to spend exploring the various islands, but honestly, you could spend a lifetime here and never get bored.
Amazon Jungle
Head into Ecuador's Amazon and disappear into one of the world's most biodiverse ecosystems. A multi-day jungle expedition means canoe rides down winding rivers, hiking through dense rainforest, immersing yourself in some of the world's most untouched wildlife, and encountering indigenous communities and learning about their way of life. The sights, the sounds, the wildlife, the humidity, the mystery; the Amazon is unlike anywhere else. Highlights
The Tribe is off to Quito, Ecuador, tucked high in the Andes with a UNESCO-listed old town at its heart!
We're taking over 5 premium 3-bedroom apartments on Av. de la República in an awesome neighborhood that's super walkable and close to parks, restaurants, gyms, and cafés.
The building is incredible. We have access to all of the buildings facilities including a solid gym, and a gorg rooftop pool! There's also a games room and bowling alley for chilled Tribe hangs.
Rooms don't have A/C but it won't be necessary, Quito has a pleasant temperature that leans more on the cooler side.
Our base in Quito is perfect. Expect productive work weeks followed by epic weekends spent hiking in forests, relaxing in thermal pools, and travelling further afield to see more of this awesome country. Quito has an incredible food scene; think fresh ceviche, craft beer, and great coffee; plus La Carolina Park right on our doorstep for running, biking, and hammock afternoons.
Good to Know
Quito sits at 2,850 meters (9,350 feet) above sea level; the altitude is real! Most people feel symptoms like shortness of breath, slight headaches, and fatigue for the first few days. Take it easy during your first week and by day 3–4, you'll be fine.
We're heading to Quito during the dry season. Expect mild, spring-like weather with daytime temperatures ranging from 18°C - 20°C (65°F - 68°F) and nighttime temperatures dropping to 9°C - 10°C (48°F - 50°F). Mornings and evenings are cool so pack layers including a sweater or light jacket for occasional showers.
Quito is extremely walkable with everything accessible on foot: restaurants, gyms, cafés, neighborhoods. For weekend adventures outside the city, taxis are cheap and readily available. We may rent cars or scooters for multi-day weekend trips for more flexibility, but it's not necessary for daily life.
Spanish is the primary language. English is spoken in tourist areas and cafés, but learning basic Spanish phrases will massively enhance your experience and earn you points with locals.

Quito Chapter FAQs

If a Member cancels a Chapter booking at least ten weeks prior to the commencement of the Chapter, the Member shall receive a refund of amounts paid minus the deposit and the deposit shall be forfeited unless the booking was either made within the 48 hours prior to the cancellation request or the member recommitted to an early booking in which case the deposit shall be allowed to be applied to a future booking.
If a Member cancels a Chapter booking at least six weeks, but less than ten weeks, prior to the commencement of the Chapter, the Member shall receive a 50% refund of amounts paid minus the deposit and the deposit shall be forfeited unless the booking was either made within the 48 hours prior to the cancellation request or the member recommitted to an early booking in which case the deposit shall be allowed to be applied to a future booking.
If a Member cancels a Chapter booking less than six weeks prior to the commencement of the Chapter, the Member shall receive no refund whatsoever and the deposit shall be forfeited.
