Gran Canaria

August 9 - September 6, 2024

Agaete is a charming, cozy and remote town that clings to the still authentic, whitewashed Agaete Valley. The town's size and accessibility make it a great base for exploring the rest of the Islands, and surrounding nature. There are great little nooks in our home for when it's time to get sh!t done and when it's time to close the laptops we'll be hiking, dancing, sand duning, going on wine tours, downward facing dogging it and chilling in the natural swimming pools.

Our Home in Gran Canaria

One big property

I'd been more productive than working from home. The location was perfect for focusing on my job. In a couple of days it organically became clear that usually kitchen=talks, living room=works haha ;) - Fellow Triber

Our coliving home is in a tranquil fishing village called Agaete, known as one of the most beautiful towns in Gran Canaria. It's nested in a very green beautiful valley - the perfect combination between the sea and the mountains.

Agaete is super walkable, with a small grocery store, restaurants, swimming spots for daily swims and snorkelling just 3min walk from our home and hiking trails (Agaete Valley, Tamabada, Charco Azul, Guayedra), With everything closely linked Agaete creates a strong sense of community without the distractions of a bigger city. The locals are friendly and it's close enough to Las Palmas for an easy day trip if you're looking for a city feel fix.

This property has one big communal kitchen, multiple indoor and outdoor coworking and dining areas, a furnished rooftop terrace, table tennis, and a BBQ.

Incredible internet! Our home of the month has been recently outfitted with Cisco’s latest technology which means the property is wired with 1 Gig WiFi.

All our members will have free access to all the Repeople Coworking spaces both in Agaete and in Las Palmas

We got 22 rooms and each of them has a fan, an ensuite bathroom, a desk, a chair, and a closet.,

Good to Know

The landlord devised a sustainable solution to ensure uninterrupted AC availability throughout our stay, irrespective of heat waves. While we appreciate this option, we kindly urge you to use it responsibly and remember to switch it off before leaving.

There is very good affordable public transportation, buses, and ferries. To fully enjoy the island and reach all the hiking trails and beautiful lagoons it is recommended to rent a car.

It is only a 30 min drive from Las Palmas and with a direct ferry to Tenerife to enjoy island hopping!

If you'd like to relax, and focus on your productivity, you will really enjoy the retreat-like vibe of our home (Very similar to our usual Crete Chapter in Greece)

The sunset rooftop views are incredible and remind us of Cape Town.

Due to it's more remote location and an incredible home with plenty of communal spaces, there is a great family and retreat style vibe on this Chapter.

Last year our Chapter started on the day of Agaete's annual festival - a big outdoor celebration filled with loads of local festivities. Although very fun and a great way to kick of the Chapter the town was filled with loud music and lots of people. The Tribe loved it but this is something to keep in mind.

What classifies as a room upgrade?

We have three amenities categories we look at when selecting the upgrade rooms:

  • Functionality: desk, chair, kitchen, ensuite bathroom, privacy, AC, kitchenette or kitchen, fridge, walk-in closet or extra storage space etc.
  • How it looks: balcony, terrace, views, size of room, size of bed, windows/natural light, decor, living room or seating area, couch, coffee table, mirror etc.
  • Mixed: When possible, the room shares some of both of the above.
  • Securing the upgrade guarantees that you get the amenities you've paid for.
  • Upgrades that have not been secured will be assigned to members based on a number of different factors by the host (order of booking, circle level, etc.)
  • If all rooms have a particular amenity such as AC we do not offer upgrades for that particular
