How it works
What most people join nomad programs in search of – community, friendship, coworking/coliving – they will find with the Tribe.” - Leah B
Subscribe to a New Way of Living
Imagine a community filled with like-minded, curious, inspiring, and adventurous people. They’re your friends, mentors, and travel partners and the bonds you’ve formed evolve to last a lifetime. And the best part is, the community isn’t in just one city but it follows you all over the world.
We’re on a mission to combine that sense of belonging with the magic of travel. WiFi Tribe is a global community for those ready to subscribe to a new way of living. We work, live, explore, and support each other to get the most out of this journey through life. You may be coming to WiFi Tribe for the travels but we guarantee you’ll stay for the community.
How to Travel the World with WiFi Tribe
Members travel around the world with WiFi Tribe by joining our Chapters. Here's how it works:
1. Activate a Membership
Every year, you'll pay $500 to remain an active member of the community. You need an active membership to join Chapters and be plugged into the community through our member-only Slack workspace.
$200 Chapter Credit for New Members
New members who activate their membership within 7 days of being accepted into the Tribe, get a credit of $200 towards the price of their 1st Chapter!
2. Purchase a Chapter Plan
After activating your membership and officially becoming part of the community, it's time to think about how many Chapters you'd like to experience with WiFi Tribe!
Our Chapter Plans were designed with freedom and flexibility in mind. A Plan is made up of deposits, where the total number of deposits equals the number of Chapters you want to join. The Chapter deposits never expire if you have an active membership so they fit with any travel schedule.
Our Chapter Plans allow you to unlock lower Chapter prices when you're ready to book (see pricing table below). You can also choose to pay as you go if you prefer.
New Member Experience Guarantee
New members who purchase a 3 or 5 Chapter Plan can downgrade their plan after attending their first Chapter. See our Booking FAQs for more information.
3. Book a Chapter & Meet Your Tribe
After buying a Chapter Plan, the most exciting decision begins: figuring out where you want to go!
You can choose between 4, 6 and 8-week Chapters in locations all over the world. Our Chapter Plan flexibility means you can join Chapters one after another or spread them out. When an exciting destination is added to our Chapter Calendar, members have the ultimate freedom to choose their own adventure.
Chapter prices depend on your Chapter Plan and what type of room you prefer (shared or private). We also use Tiers to align our Chapter prices with the level of accommodation or local housing costs in each destination.
(Prices below are for 4-week Chapters)
Save Money with a Chapter Plan
Choosing the 5 Chapter Plan will save you a minimum of $1,500 and up to $2,500 over paying as you go. That's a free Chapter!

Frequently Asked Questions
How Does It Work?
We slow-travel the world together as a group of 12-25 people while we work online. Every 4 weeks, we go to a different country and invite our community to join us. Each member goes through an application process, and once accepted, can join us wherever they want.
We find quality accommodation in an exciting city. From there, we (co)work and (co)live together for the next 4 weeks. Everyone who joins works on their own thing while they’re there – their own company, freelance clients, their remote job, a startup project, etc.
With so many talented professionals and creatives in one space, there are countless opportunities to collaborate, learn from each other, and grow together.
When we’re not working, we explore the country together. Most weekends, we’re out chasing adventure (rafting, surfing, road trips, hiking, sailing, diving, sunsets and campfires…) or visiting the most spectacular places of this beautiful country.
Who Can Join?
Anyone who shares the values of our community and can work remotely. We welcome people from all backgrounds and we celebrate cultural diversity. We look for people who:
- Share the values of our community
- Loves the work they do (or has a passion project)
- Can work remotely for at least a few consecutive weeks
Over time, we realised that certain values are great for creating a strong, supportive and tight-knit community. The pillars of our community are:
- Respect - we believe this is the primary pillar for a strong community
- Humility - our tribe is an ego-free zone
- Camaraderie - we look out for each other and help each other grow
- Curiosity - we crave to learn, create, and discover the new
- Passion - we find purpose and excitement in our work
- Inclusion - we celebrate each others' differences because they make the world colourful
How Is WiFi Tribe Different From Other Communities?
A Super Close-Knit Community: We firmly believe that the perfect group size is somewhere between 15 and 25 people. From past experience, running events for entrepreneurs, we realised that groups with more than 25 members typically start breaking down into small cliques. In our opinion, this totally defeats the purpose of traveling as a community. It seems counter-intuitive at first, but when you think back to the high school days, it makes sense that more isn’t always better…
“The WifiTribe has felt much more like home and a real community… I love the fact that the WifiTribe is usually all under one roof. It makes ALL the difference in forming those bonds with people in such a short span of time.” - Lauren M
“Because each chapter only accommodates 20 ppl, it lends to the feeling of traveling with a close group of friends. There's no separation within the tribe, no cliques. Everyone feels like they belong.” - Nolan B
The Freedom & Flexibility: Anyone who redesigned their life around working remotely and traveling LOVES their freedom and would never want to give it up. That’s why we keep things flexible for our members. Instead of having to commit to several months at a time, or even an entire year, our members can join for whichever chapters they like, as often as they want.
Of course, we do celebrate members who travel with the tribe for several months a year, by offering better prices.
But do people come back, then? Of course! 80% of our members rejoin us for two or more chapters a year, many of them for 3 chapters, some even for 6 chapters! But they all choose where and when they return.
“The month-to-month flexibility was a top priority for me” - Nolan B
“The monthly option and the price. It is more affordable without long commitments which helps when you can't travel for extended periods.” - Leah B
The Selection Process: Every member goes through an application process that is designed to bring people together who are very likely fit.
“We had the chance to meet with 2 other nomad programs and it was then we realized Wifi Tribe is the best :) ( we even chanted it a the meet-up event lol). Talking with some of the members of other programs it was clear to see that WifiTribe offered something truly authentic and valued. Maybe it is due to the smaller group size or the application/interview process but I think what most people join nomad programs in search of (community, friendship, coworking/coliving) they will find with the Tribe.” - Leah B
What's The Work Culture Like?
Although most of what you’ll see about the Tribe on social media is adventure and fun stuff, we spend a lot of our time working. We specifically look for people who are passionate about their work, and we ask everyone to bring work with them when they join.
It helps us all stay productive, when everyone around us is equally focused.
For many of us, this is a permanent lifestyle, so we simply need to get sh*t done! Our ‘average’ member probably works ‘normal' 40-hour weeks. Some people have managed to cut their working hours down further, while others – typically those working on their own businesses – often work even longer hours.
When it’s time to work, people are quiet, considerate and focused. We ask new members to keep this in mind when they join for the first time.
Who Are Our Members? What Are They Like?
Entrepreneurs, designers, musicians, developers, photographers, bloggers, filmmakers, marketers, writers, project managers… But those are just some of their professions.
Who are they? Now that’s much more difficult to summarise.
Well, they love freedom more than most people, they’re contagiously energetic, they’re passionate about what they put their time into, they need adventure to keep them going, and they all joined to find their tribe; a nomadic community of diverse, unconventional, curious, brilliant, warm-hearted, and simply inspirational people.
Diverse Backgrounds, But Shared Values:We celebrate diversity of nationalities and professional backgrounds, in fact, we're the most international group out there! But we believe that certain things should be aligned for our community to work well, so we select members based on values and personality.
“I met some amazing people and long-term friends from my time with WifiTribe. What is really unique is that everyone comes from a different place in the world, and in life (marketers, software developers, writers) -but with everyone having the same core values it creates a truly remarkable experience. I really appreciated how supportive the group was, the creativity, the comradery both while working and when off the clock, the killer dance moves, their openness and willingness to try new things, and how much they made me laugh.” - Leah B
“I find the people who go for wifitribe to be really down to earth, motivated, interesting, and from all over the world.” - Christa R
“The [tribe members] all have a very inclusive, friendly, and engaging personality. Love how open everyone has been with sharing their stories, remote work insights, and professional skillset. The networking and collaborative aspect of the group is top notch!” - Nolan B
Serious About Their Work: We ask every member to come with work and most of the tribers work 40+ hours per week. This way, we hold each other accountable to staying productive, and to switching off when we've achieved our goals.
“Genuine, nice, funny, honest. Everyone was serious about their work even though we all worked in different fields/industries. It was a very inclusive group.” - Kris A
How Many People Are There In Each Chapter?
So far, between 12 and 25. We’re very careful not to have groups that are too large, because large groups quickly become impersonal and break down into small cliques. Our favourite thing about our tribe, is that... it’s a tribe. We’re that family away from home.
“I've been with the Tribe for 3 different months and each time it was a crew that felt a bit like family by mid-month.” - Christa R
“Close knit, inclusive, and so chill...like we've known each other for a long time and are really good friends.” - Nolan B
What Kind Of Trips Or Activities Do You Usually Do?
We’re a really active group, but the kind of activities that we do varies from place to place and from group to group. Some of our favourite weekend trips include island escapes, road trips, hiking, or other adventurous experiences.
“One of my favorite memories with WifiTribe was our weekend trip to Huacachina Desert where we sandboarded, rode buggys, and stood in awe of the vast sandy mass. The trip was so much fun and I really was able to take my relationship with some of the other members to the next level.” - Leah B
“My favorite wifitribe memory was from a boozy sunset sailing excursion in Nicaragua. It was towards the end of the month so everyone knew each other really well which made for one seriously fun floating party in a seriously beautiful place.” - Christa R
We usually spend our weekday afternoons exploring the city, participating in cultural events or experiences, and eating our way through local dishes.
Is The Internet Good Enough To Work?
Yes. We take every precaution to make sure that there’s workable internet. It’s the reason why most of us can live this lifestyle. For each location, we:
- ask the landlord for speed tests
- upgrade the speed if possible
- purchase mobile data as backups (usually 4G speeds)
Disclaimer: Don’t expect the kind of speeds you're used to from home. Every country has different maximum speeds and internet speeds may even vary from one street to the next. If you require very fast internet to do your work, please mention this in your application, or when you request to join a location, so we can tell you what speeds to expect.
