Payments, Refund and Cancellation Policy

This Payments, Refund and Cancellation Policy (“Payments Policy”) together with WiFi Tribes Terms and Conditions (“Terms” or “Agreement”) (available here) govern your use of WiFi Tribe’s services and Experiences. Any capitalized terms not defined in this Cancellation Policy shall have the meaning as defined in the Terms.   

By enrolling in and participating in any of WiFi Tribe services or Experiences, you signify that you have read, understand and agree to be bound by the terms of this Payments Policy.


Section 1 – Payments

1.1   All prices and fees are subject to change.


1.2   WiFi Tribe may utilize third-party payment processors for all transactions. We shall not be responsible for any error made by the third-party payment processor. Similarly, WiFi Tribe is not responsible for any error made by the User or the User’s financial institution related to payment. We reserve the right to correct any errors or mistakes even if WiFi has already requested or received payment.


1.3   Deposits may be required to reserve space in a Service or Experience. Deposits do not expire as long as the User’s Membership remains active. If a User allows their Membership to expire, all deposits shall be forfeited. Deposits cannot be transferred to another person and it cannot be credited to pay for a different product. 


1.4   To reserve your space on a WiFi Tribe Experience, you must have a valid and active Membership at the time that the reservation is made and at the time the desired Experience commences. In the event that you allow your Membership to expire prior to the commencement of the Experience, you consent to WiFi Tribe in its sole discretion either (1) automatically renewing your Membership, including charging the applicable fee or (2) canceling your booking for that Experience. No refund shall be provided if your Experience booking is canceled under such circumstance.


1.5   All Services will be invoiced. Unless otherwise specified on the invoice, the invoice shall be due upon receipt and payable in a single lump sum. The invoice must be paid in full prior to the Service being provided, used or accessed. Failure to pay the invoice may result in a late fee being charged and/or the Service being forfeited and your spot in the Experience being lost.


1.6   If an Experience is booked with less than 12 weeks until the start, such booking shall not be complete until the Member has remitted the full Fee for that Experience. You will receive a full confirmation email from us acknowledging receipt of payment.  Until you receive such confirmation, you are advised not to book any flights or lodging as your spot in the Experience is not secured until that time.


1.7   WiFi Tribe in its sole discretion may offer discounts, credits, or promotions for certain Services and to certain people. Any such discounts are non-transferrable and subject to change or expiration without notice.


Section 2 - Recurring Membership Payments

2.1   Full payment for annual Memberships shall be required upfront and shall automatically renew every 365 days unless the Member opts out of automatic renewal at least thirty (30) days prior to such renewal.


2.2   WiFi Tribe may offer members the option to pay for Memberships in installments.


2.3   You acknowledge that WiFi Tribe’s Membership is an annually recurring subscription, has an automatic renewal feature and you accept responsibility for all recurring charges when enrolling for a Membership. WE MAY SUBMIT PERIODIC CHARGES PURSUANT TO YOU SELECTION OF INSTALLMENTS WITHOUT FURTHER AUTHORIZATION FROM YOU, UNTIL YOU PROVIDE PRIOR NOTICE (RECEIPT OF WHICH IS CONFIRMED BY US) THAT YOU HAVE TERMINATED THIS AUTHORIZATION OR WISH TO CHANGE YOUR PAYMENT METHOD. SUCH NOTICE WILL NOT AFFECT CHARGES SUBMITTED BEFORE WE REASONABLY COULD ACT. TO TERMINATE YOUR AUTHORIZATION OR CHANGE YOUR PAYMENT METHOD, EMAIL HELLO@WIFITRIBE.CO.


2.4   Your continued participation as a Member or use of the Services reaffirms that we are authorized to charge your Payment Method. We may submit those charges for payment and you will be responsible for such charges. We do not waive our right to seek payment directly from you, and we reserve the right to enlist a third party to seek collections, should we deem such action necessary.


Section 3 - Payments, Refunds and Cancellation for Non-Chapter Experiences

3.1 This Section 3 addresses WiFi Tribe’s payments, refunds and cancellation policies for non-Chapter Experiences. For WiFi Tribe’s policies related to Chapters, see Section 4 below.


3.2   WiFi Tribe reserves the right to cancel any Experience in its sole and absolute discretion. In the event an Experience is canceled by WiFi Tribe, any amounts paid will be credited to another Experience but will not be refunded.


3.3   Membership Fees are always non-refundable. In the event a User is on an installment plan and attempts to terminate his or her Membership, the remaining amount of the Membership Fee shall be immediately payable and due.


3.4   Deposits are non-refundable. Subject to availability and WiFi Tribe’s discretion, deposits may be applied to alternative bookings for that same Experience type. 


3.5   Unless otherwise specified, if a member cancels a booking for an Experience at least ten weeks prior to the commencement of that Experience, the Member shall receive a full refund minus the deposit made. If a Member cancels a booking for an Experience at least six weeks prior to the commencement of that Experience but less than ten weeks prior, the Member shall receive a 50% refund minus the deposit made. If a Member cancels a booking for an Experience with less than six weeks notice, no refund shall be made and all deposits shall be forfeited.

3.6   Notwithstanding the foregoing, if a Member cancels a booking for an Unplugged Trip at least 10 weeks prior to the commencement of the Unplugged Trip, the Member shall receive a full refund minus the deposit made. If a Member cancels a booking for an Unplugged Trip at least six weeks prior to the commencement of that Unplugged Trip but less than ten weeks prior, the Member shall receive a 50% refund minus the deposit made. If a Member cancels a booking for an Unplugged Trip with less than six weeks notice, no refund shall be made and all deposits shall be forfeited.

3.7   Deposits are non-refundable under all circumstances. If a Member cancels a booking for an Experience the deposit shall be forfeited unless the booking was made within the 48 hours prior to the cancellation request or the Member committed to an early booking and the cancellation was made within 7 days following the announcement of the final price, in which case WiFi Tribe shall allow the deposit to be applied to a future booking of that Experience. 


3.8   The above cancellation policy applies regardless of the reason for the cancellation, including but not limited to immigration matters/issues, illnesses, User’s Membership being terminated due to violation of the Terms and Conditions or community guidelines, or any other reason.


Section 4 - Payments, Cancellations and Refunds for Chapters

4.1   Payments, refunds and cancellations for Chapters shall be subject to the provisions of this Section 4. In the event of a conflict between Section 4 and the rest of this Payments Policy, this Section 4 shall control as it relates to Chapters.


4.2   The Chapter Fee includes access to the room booked, wireless internet connection, and access to the WiFi Tribe community. The Chapter Fee does not include food, drinks, transportation, activities, sim cards, coworking spaces, immigration fees, medical costs, or any other costs. The Fee includes accommodations, internet connection and the community.


4.3   Deposits are non-transferable, either to other Members or to other Experiences. The only exception to this provision is if the Member wishes to transfer the deposit to another Chapter booking which is occurring at the same time as the original booking. Under such limited circumstance, WiFi Tribe will allow the Member to transfer the deposit to the preferred Chapter which is occurring at the same time as the original booking.


4.4   Final payment is due 12 weeks prior to the commencement of the Chapter. If the remaining fee is not received prior to that time, the booking may be canceled and the deposit may be forfeited. Bookings made less than 12 weeks in advance require full payment upon booking. Bookings made more than 12 weeks in advance will be deemed confirmed once the user’s deposit is received, in full, by WiFi Tribe. Bookings made less than 12 weeks before the start date of a Chapter will be confirmed once full payment is received, in full. WiFi Tribe will not be liable for any loss incurred by users (e.g. flights and airbnb reservations) should the user make financial commitments in view of participating in a Chapter prior to a booking being confirmed.


4.5   Cancellation and Refund:


If a Member cancels a Chapter booking at least ten weeks prior to the commencement of the Chapter, the Member shall receive a refund of amounts paid minus the deposit and the deposit shall be forfeited unless the booking was either made within the 48 hours prior to the cancellation request or the member recommitted to an early booking in which case the deposit shall be allowed to be applied to a future booking.


If a Member cancels a Chapter booking at least six weeks, but less than ten weeks, prior to the commencement of the Chapter, the Member shall receive a 50% refund of amounts paid minus the deposit and the deposit shall be forfeited unless the booking was either made within the 48 hours prior to the cancellation request or the member recommitted to an early booking in which case the deposit shall be allowed to be applied to a future booking.


If a Member cancels a Chapter booking less than six weeks prior to the commencement of the Chapter, the Member shall receive no refund whatsoever and the deposit shall be forfeited.

4.6   Chapter Pass. Chapter Pass enrollment requires payment in full prior to confirmation of the booking. Chapter Pass bookings are non-refundable, however, in the event a Member on the waitlist meets WiFi Tribe’s requirements, the Chapter Pass can be transferred, and WiFi Tribe will facilitate a refund after the replacement member has submitted payment.


4.7   Deposit Packages.


WiFi Tribe may sell a set of prepaid deposits for Chapters in sets of three, five or seven, which allow for a discount. Deposit Packages do not expire so long as the Member maintains an active membership. All Deposit Packages require payment in full upon purchase. Deposit Packages can only be applied to Chapter bookings. Deposit Packages cannot be applied to any other Experiences, including but not limited to Chapter Pass.


Deposit Packages are nonrefundable; however, WiFi Tribe offers an experience guarantee on Deposit Packages. Deposit Packages may be downgraded so long as the request to downgrade is received by WiFi Tribe within 2 weeks following the first Chapter attended using the Deposit Package. In the event the member wishes to downgrade and makes a timely request to do so, the member will retroactively adjust the price of the completed Chapter and refund the remaining balance of unused deposits less the difference in Chapter prices.
