Coliving On One of the Most Famous Islands in the World
The ball being kicked by the boot. That’s how Sicily is noted in basic geography. The island that is the ancestral home of all the OG mob movies is also a gorgeous, stunning, and almost unbelievable landscape that will make you question why anybody would ever want to leave (and who knows... maybe you never will!)
Sea and Sun
It won’t quite be summer, but the southern Mediterranean brings out the sun starting in April. You probably won’t be swimming, though you will definitely want to hit up the beachside bars, restaurants, and lounges that will be just waking up from their winter slumbers. The vibe at this time of year is amazing, with a palpable feeling of enjoyment in the air.
Part of what makes the sun-kissed hillsides of Southern Italy shimmer is the architecture that enhances the landscape. Stone walls, brilliant colours, unique facades - it’s all here and all fits together so nicely you might not think it actually exists. Pictures simply don’t do it justice! Make sure to visit the adorable down of Alberobello to check out the unique whitewashed stone architecture and explore the cobbled streets, before enjoying an aperitif at a local cafe for sunset.
Relaxation At Its Finest
When you think of gorgeous Mediterranean beaches to laze out on and just relax, you should think of Sicily. The island coasts are perfect for kicking back and taking in the stunning atmosphere. After a long day of coworking, leave your laptop behind and take advantage of one of the most relaxation-friendly places in the world.
Taste of Italia
All the best pizza, pasta, Parma ham, eggplant Parmigiano, and gelato that you can find on the mainland you can also find on Sicily. Even though these delicacies aren’t known to come from Palermo, the quality and taste is just as good as you would expect in Florence or Naples or Rome. Plus, there are some regional specialities, like cannolis, that are well known and definitely as amazing as you would expect.
It’s not Tuscany, sure. But the wine here is still amazing - and most likely better than you would imagine from this region. The semi-arid climate and sloped hills make Sicily the perfect place for dry rose and decidedly above-average reds and whites. Visit some of the wineries and taste it from the source, or pick up a cheap bottle of quality local vino for a family-style dinner in one of the apartments.
Hop on a ferry to Malta or Matera, hop aboard Ryanair to inland or Eastern Europe, explore Mount Etna, or hop on a scooter for a road trip along the coast. Hike gorgeous hillsides and marvel at the sun shimmering over the Mediterranean Sea. Hang out at wineries and vineyards while eating delectable food. There are endless adventures to be had in Southern Italy.
