With an extension of 6.278 kilometers, much of the Croatian coastline is rocky, but don't let that put your hopes down. The water is unbelievably clear and the rocks make the perfect platform to launch yourself into the Adriatic waters. If sandy beaches are your jam, fret not! Head to the most popular strip of sand in Split: Bacvice Beach, and lounge around for hours on end.
Get lost in the old town and discover the squares, shops and restaurants hidden among the cobbled streets. It's here where several architectural styles come together and the result is nothing less than breath-taking.
Soak up the architectural majesty of Split's Roman past and marvel at Diocletian’s Palace. Or sip your afternoon cup of joe at Peristil Square. There's no place in the Adriatic coast like Split's old town!
If you are in the mood for a bit of fresh air and exercise, climb this steep, 170-meter-high hill to get a different perspective of the city. Not only you will catch amazing views of the city from above, but also visit 15th-century hermitage caves, picturesque little churches and a Jewish cemetery.
...And adventure into the calm waters of the Adriatic! Explore any of the nearby islands without breaking the bank. Split has an abundance of charter agencies competing for business and keeping rentals affordable. Just make sure to stop at the marina area shops to stock your vessel with food and drinks before you embark on your adventure.
Home to one of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia: Zlatni Rat or Golden Horn, for those of us who don't speak Croatian. To visit this Mediterranean paradise, all you gotta do is hop on a ferry and head over to Bol, one of the many towns on the island.
