Experience Sri Lanka with the Tribe

Stunning natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and warm hospitality - that's Sri Lanka. From pristine beaches to lush tea plantations, this beautiful country offers diverse landscapes and breathtaking scenery. The ancient temples, UNESCO World Heritage sites, and vibrant festivals provide glimpses into Sri Lanka's fascinating history and culture, making it a truly captivating destination for an epic WiFi Tribe chapter.

1. Spend Your Days at the Beach

Whether it's at Weligama, Unawatuna, or Mirissa - Sri Lanka is known for its long stretches of golden sand and clear blue waters.

2. Catch the Weligama Waves

Weligama is a haven for surfers, with consistent waves suitable for all levels. Take a surf lesson or rent a board to catch some waves.

3. Go Scuba Diving

Experience the underwater world with a diving excursion from the Weligama Bay Dive Center. Discover colorful coral reefs, tropical fish, and possibly even sea turtles.

4. Visit Coconut Tree Hill

Head to Coconut Tree Hill, a picturesque spot in nearby Mirissa. It offers panoramic views of the coastline and is especially beautiful during sunrise or sunset.

5. Explore Galle Fort

Take a day trip to Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located about 30 kilometers from Weligama. Explore the well-preserved colonial architecture, museums, and charming streets within the fort.

6. Enjoy a Jeep Safari at Yala National Park

Located in the southeast of Sri Lanka, Yala National Park is renowned for its high leopard population. It also boasts a variety of other wildlife, including elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and numerous bird species.

Meet the Chapter Host

Joe

Hailing from Colorado, Joe has a passion for helping others. He worked for a social change accelerator helping nonprofits and social enterprises positively impact communities in the US and assisted companies in Sri Lanka to modernize their operations.

If that sounds like he'd have lots of stories to fill a memoir, you're right. Joe is busy getting it all on paper, in between milkshake breaks and joining the Tribe on epic Chapter adventures.

Highlights

We'll be staying in a beautiful beachfront 19-bedroom colive in downtown Weligama, which will house all of our tribers under one roof.

We will have exclusive use of a private section of the coworking space, large enough for 20 people. The communal open-air kitchen is fully equipped with two stoves, three fridges, and plenty of dry storage space, and is situated on the rooftop. We have a paid laundry service in-house.

There is a highly rated cafe in the bottom floor of the property that is open between 9 am and 8 pm. Beautiful Weligama beach is a mere 300 meters from the colive.

Good to Know

There are only private rooms available on this chapter.

We won't have the entire coworking space to ourselves, as the larger space is open to locals as well. The same goes for the cafe on the bottom floor and the pool, which will both be accessible to locals. But nobody but uas will have access to our living quarters.

The pool is technically accesible to cafe patrons but in reality it is only really used by people in the colive (aka us).

This is not your usual digital nomad destination, due to its less reliable infrastructure. We are staying at an established colive/cowork to make up for it. Still, outages can occur. In that case, the property has a backup  electric generator on hand.

We'll be in this tropical location during shoulder season, Temperature highs range around 30°C (86°F), the lows around 24°C (75°F). Occasional rain showers will happen, but humidity levels start to decrease, providing more comfortable conditions for outdoor activities. It's a good time to enjoy the beaches and engage in water activities,
