No other city in the world straddles two continents, and nowhere else is like Istanbul. History and tradition seep from the city streets, as the centuries-old mosques and ancient bazaars blend seamlessly with our modern appetite for stylish cafes and vibrant nightlife.
There's a lot to see in Istanbul! Visits to major historical sites like the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace will fill our afternoons, while wandering through picturesque districts like Balat and Bebek will become our after-work ritual. We'll also experience local traditions like classic Turkish baths (or hamams) and bargain at all of the busy bazaars.
New to WiFi Tribe? A Chapter is a month-long trip where we explore a destination together. Accommodation and internet is provided, and you’ll have a Chapter Host available for any help or guidance. You set your own schedule, working when needed, and can explore the city however you like. On weekends, you’ll venture to further destinations with the Tribe, co-creating an epic trip to see more of the country you’re working remotely in. You’ll call a new place home with a community that’ll quickly become your new best friends, and make memories that’ll last a lifetime.

In a place where Byzantine emperors, Ottoman sultans, and ancient Greek philosophers roamed, the streets are a treasure trove of historical and cultural significance. Discover Turkey's most captivating historical sites, from the ruins at Ephesus to Derinkuyu's underground passages, and the Hierapolis amphitheater. And don't miss out on a whirling dervish ceremony.
With Istanbul as your base, you'll have plenty to see and do in the city alone, but venturing further across the country will take you to some of the most interesting heritage sites and drop-dead gorgeous natural wonders. Explore ancient underground cities or sail along the pristine Mediterranean coast, but plan your weekend trips wisely, there's so much to do!
Experience Istanbul with the Tribe
Istanbul isn't a place that slows down, and neither will we! Once our day jobs are done, we'll be off exploring colorful neighborhoods, finding our new favorite kebab stall, hopping on a ferry to explore the other side of the city, or haggling at the bazaar. On weekends, we'll spend every second exploring this exquisite, exciting country!
1. Discover Istanbul's Old City
Hit up Sultanahmet’s must-see sites, including Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, the Grand Bazaar, and the ancient Hippodrome.
2. Explore the Asian Side of Istanbul
Take a ferry to Kadıköy, snap photos of Maiden’s Tower, hang out in the trendy neighborhood of Moda, explore Üsküdar’s Ottoman-era mosques and Kadıköy’s markets.
3. See the Sights in Cappadocia
Head to Cappadocia for an iconic sunrise hot air balloon ride, hike through the Meskendir Valley, and view the rock-cut churches of the Göreme Open Air Museum.
4. Soak in the Thermal Pools at Pamukkale
Visit the “Cotton Castle,” famous for its stunning white travertine terraces. Swim in the thermal pools and see the ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis and its amphitheater.
5. Visit Two Awesome Neighborhoods
Colorful and authentic, explore Balat's vibrant streets lined with pastel buildings and quirky cafés, and head to Bebek for waterfront vibes and trendy spots.
6. Explore Ancient Ephesus
Step back in time and wander through one of the world’s best-preserved ancient cities. See the Temple of Artemis, Library of Celsus, Great Theatre, and the Terrace House.
7. Party in Bodrum
Known for its epic nightlife, Bodrum is quietly rivaling Ibiza as a party destination thanks to its epic beach clubs, buzzing bars, and yacht parties.

You arrive early and connect with Tribers you've been chatting with on Slack to explore a region together before Chapter starts, or stay late after the month wraps to travel somewhere new with the people who just became your closest friends. Antalya
Turkey is a massive country, and honestly, after one month on Chapter here, you'll only scratch the surface of what this beautiful country has to offer. Centering a gap week around exploring another side of Turkey gives you more opportunities to see more of this incredible destination. Antalya is a Mediterranean gem: a stunning coastal city on the Turkish Riviera where ancient ruins sit alongside modern beach resorts, where sheer cliffs open to beautiful beaches, and where the slow pace and relaxed energy is perfect for a pre- or post-Chapter chill. Whether you're wandering through the charming old town, hiking the various outdoor trails, indulging in Turkish mezze, or soaking up the sun at one of the many beaches, Antalya is the perfect gap week destination to experience another beautiful side of Turkey.
Greek Islands
Island hopping along the Greek Isles is always a good idea, and with Istanbul as your base, a quick flight to or from Greece before or after Chapter is easy peasy. Choose a spot or sail between the three iconic islands, exploring Santorini's iconic white-washed villages, Mykonos's electric beach party energy and nightlife, or Rhodes' quieter beaches and ancient history. It's pure Mediterranean magic here, and whatever you choose, you'll be spoiled with impossibly blue waters to swim in, incredible food all week long, great sunsets, and quintessential Greek hospitality everywhere you turn.

Highlights
We're off to Istanbul, the incredible city where East meets West and every street corner tells a story. Think vibrant bazaars, waterfront cafés, boat rides across the Bosphorus, and centuries of history woven into daily life.
We're staying in two apartment buildings in the heart of Beyoğlu and Karaköy; trendy, hip, and artsy neighborhoods filled with awesome cafés and restaurants, perfect for coffee runs and coworking sessions. The properties are roughly an 8-minute walk from each other.
Our first property, or "Main Hub" is a repeat from 2026 because it was such a massive success. We loved this spot so much that we had to come back! This property features multiple two-bedroom apartments and a giant rooftop hangout area with stunning views of Istanbul. This property will likely become our base or "social hub" for gatherings as the property has loads of communal areas. Please note, not all rooms have A/C in this property, also, this property's location is at the top of the hill.
Our second property is a collection of brand new, boutique apartments where we're taking over the entire building of four two-bedroom units. These ultra-luxe living spaces are recently renovated. They are less spacious but have a very trendy café downstairs which will make a great casual place to co-work from, otherwise the main property (which has loads of space) is a quick, eight-minute walk away! The smaller apartments have A/C throughout. They are located at the base of the hill.

Please note: Standard shared rooms are available but upgrades are only available for private occupancy or couples sharing. There are no shared upgrade rooms for this Chapter.
Please note: The coliving home in Karaköy is roughly 200m from a mosque. There will be several daily calls to prayer, with the first beginning at sunrise.
Beyoğlu is one of Istanbul's most walkable neighborhoods. Everything you need is accessible on foot: trendy cafés for coworking, restaurants, shops, bookstores, galleries, and bars. The Bosphorus waterfront is a short walk away, and ferries are easy to access for exploring the Asian side or taking sunset cruises. The city is extremely hilly with lots of stairs all over the show. Also, our coliving homes don't have elevators.
Istanbul is very safe. It's a welcoming, vibrant city with millions of visitors yearly. However, standard big-city awareness applies: watch bags in crowded places and public transport, and don't leave valuables unattended.
We're in Istanbul during the perfect transition into summer! Late May through June offers beautiful weather with temperatures ranging from 21-28°C (70-82°F); late May is pleasantly mild while June warms up with mostly sunny days and minimal rain.
When visiting mosques, dress modestly and respect the conservative dress codes required. Avoid taking photos of people while they are praying.
Turkish is the primary language, but English is widely spoken in Beyoğlu, especially in cafés, restaurants, and tourist areas.

Istanbul Chapter FAQs

If a Member cancels a Chapter booking at least ten weeks prior to the commencement of the Chapter, the Member shall receive a refund of amounts paid minus the deposit and the deposit shall be forfeited unless the booking was either made within the 48 hours prior to the cancellation request or the member recommitted to an early booking in which case the deposit shall be allowed to be applied to a future booking.
If a Member cancels a Chapter booking at least six weeks, but less than ten weeks, prior to the commencement of the Chapter, the Member shall receive a 50% refund of amounts paid minus the deposit and the deposit shall be forfeited unless the booking was either made within the 48 hours prior to the cancellation request or the member recommitted to an early booking in which case the deposit shall be allowed to be applied to a future booking.
If a Member cancels a Chapter booking less than six weeks prior to the commencement of the Chapter, the Member shall receive no refund whatsoever and the deposit shall be forfeited.
